Ayurveda
is 3000 years old. The word Ayur means life and Veda means science.
What
it does: Ayurveda treats not just the affected areas but also
the person as a whole. There are four Vedas or treatises which
form the basis of Indian Philosophy. Ayurveda has emerged out
as the branch of ADHARVA VEDA dates back over five thousand years.
It is said to have been originated from LORD BRAHMA (creator of
the universe according to Indian Philosophy), and has been descended
to the earth through various generations of GODS and SAINTS. This
has been handed down to us by means of ancient venerable scripts
as palm leaf books, leather leaves etc. The oldest works in Ayurveda
now available are the CHARAKA SAMHITHA, SUSRUTHA SAMHITHA, and
ASHTANGA SAMGRAHA.

Diet:
Ayurvedic treatment is generally administered along with a vegetarian
diet; however for relaxing and rejuvenate therapies there is no
stipulated diet. A Menu consisting of 250 vegetarian dishes made
from an assortment of vegetables, raw salads and fruit juices
are available.
Treatments: Varies from person to person and depends on specific
ailments. The essential features of an individuals body is analyzed
before treatment and died is prescribed. A whole host of natural
herbal medicines and oils is used.
